I have a 9018 model in the house as well which was purchased within the past year. I would have been really angry if I had to buy a new printer months after spending that much on ink. I just bought new ink from Sam's Club which cost me somewhere around $170. I see no reason to buy a new one simply because a driver can't be found. The problem is that this printer has been fine and has lasted. I have been able to add the printer using the HP 8600 driver which also allows for the device to be added as a fax machine.
It took awhile for it to do its thing but it works. FINALLY someone has offered a direct link to actually download the driver.
AirPrint would only allow you to print to the printer. Every time I downloaded and ran the stupid program it would tell me that Easy Scan was not installed (lies) and then would prompt me to change to the HP driver which would then fail. The problem is that the HP Easy Crap whatever it's called, never offered a true driver. I have to get in on this because I have been out of my mind about this issue for awhile.
